HONG KONG — An Air India flight returned to Hong Kong on Monday shortly after takeoff attributable to a midair technical problem, days after one other of the airline’s flights crashed and killed at least 270 people.
Air India mentioned in a press release that the New Delhi-bound airplane landed in Hong Kong safely and was present process checks “as a matter of considerable precaution.” Airport Authority Hong Kong mentioned in a separate assertion that flight AI315 returned to the southern Chinese language metropolis’s airport round 1 p.m.
The airplane was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the identical mannequin because the London-bound flight that struck a medical school hostel in a residential space of the northwestern Indian metropolis of Ahmedabad minutes after takeoff on Thursday. The crash killed 241 folks on board and no less than 29 on the bottom. One passenger survived.
The flag provider of India mentioned different preparations have been made to fly the affected passengers to their vacation spot on the earliest comfort.
