BERLIN — An injured seabird sought assist by pecking on the door of an emergency room at a hospital in Germany till medical workers seen it and referred to as firefighters to assist with its rescue.
The cormorant, a shiny black waterbird, had a triple fishing hook caught in its beak when it made its presence identified on the glass door of the Klinikum Hyperlinks der Weser hospital within the northern metropolis of Bremen on Sunday.
In a joint effort, medical workers and firefighters eliminated the fishhook and handled the wound, the Bremen firefighter division stated in a press release. The hen was later launched again into nature on the grounds of the hospital park.
