A SkyWest flight landed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Thursday night as a result of an unruly passenger, in accordance with authorities.
The FAA mentioned SkyWest flight 3612 landed at Jap Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids Thursday night, “after the crew reported a passenger disturbance.” The flight was met by legislation enforcement officers upon touchdown and the passenger was arrested and transported to Linn County Correctional Middle.
The arrested passenger has been recognized as 23-year previous Mario Nikprelaj from Nebraska by the Cedar Rapids Police Division.
Nikprelaj is going through fees of disorderly conduct, assault, possession of prescription remedy, tax stamp and harassment within the first diploma. He might face further fees pending additional investigation, per the police division.
On air site visitors management audio, the pilot might be heard saying that the passenger was “in a struggle with a flight attendant proper now, attempting to open the emergency exit.”
The flight departed from Omaha, Nebraska, and was initially headed to Detroit with 67 passengers and 4 crew members onboard.
The flight later departed Cedar Rapids and continued to its vacation spot, SkyWest confirmed to ABC.
The investigation into the incident is at present ongoing.
