A suspended Pennsylvania lawyer was hospitalized Saturday after he apparently shot himself throughout a short standoff with police who sought to arrest him for stealing from an aged consumer.
Police surrounded the workplace of Robert C. Klingensmith, 61, of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, and apparently used a stun gun to cease him when he emerged from his workplace bloodied and with no shirt, report TribLive.com and WTAE. A lady who lived close to Klingensmith’s Murrysville, Pennsylvania, workplace recorded the arrest.
Police allege that Klingensmith stole $312,000 from the consumer and her property. The thefts allegedly started when Klingensmith was appointed because the agent for the consumer, Anne Marie Wiley, and continued after her April 2022 loss of life at age 90, the tales report.
Klingensmith was quickly suspended in a May 13 order by the Pennsylvania Supreme Courtroom.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for a judgeship in 2023, in response to TribLive.com.
